Guarantees, Terms and Conditions

Noone, wants the hassel of receiving poor quality livestock, livestock that bares zero resemblance to what you were expecting, or dead livestock.

As hobbiests ourselves, we have been there! Chop shop frags, freshly cut already starting to receded, single tiny heads of zoanthids, that are attached to bone white plugs and are more glue than coral. Algae that has simply been snipped of a colony, from the wrong place at the wrong time in its lifecycle and my personal pet hate frags photographed using filters and edited so much they would put a Tik tok beauty influencer to shame!!

To address the above (more info can be found on the 'about us' page)

  • We don't buy in and slice up colonies, we take sustainable frags from our in-house colonies.
  • We won't sell corals that aren't attached to rock/plugs of their own accord and are actively growing onto the substrate.
  • We won't sell single heads of coral, they just don't have the energy reserves to survive shipping and thrive.
  • We only take proper cuttings from the correct location of our F1 algae species, we rest cuttings and won't sell until healed and actively growing. Our F1 colonies are directly pruned back holfast stock and rotated yearly and moved on as necessary. We don't sell off the clippings from our pruning as "cuttings". We can verify the age of our cutting stock.
  • Aside from cropping our photos we won't edit them or add filters,we will try where possible to photograph under different lighting spectrums. But what you receive will be a good likeness of what you purchased.

Our ethos and approach to the sale of corals and algae had not changed from the days when we simply sold to fund our own aquaria. We are not about high turnover and moving large volume to new customers as one off sales. We want a dedicated loyal customer base who appreciate our livestock for what it is. We understand to achieve this you, as a customer, expect the same high standard we have always maintained. We absolutely will not risk our reputation "To make a fast few quid!"

To address death of livestock. We appreciate things can happen beyond our control with shipping. Should the worst happen rest assured we won't see anyone without!

We have built our shipping methods from the ground up and honed them for well over 10 years. (explained in more detail under the delivery section) We have not simply adopted the "normal for shipping in the hobby" as this is far from the norm when it comes to shipping algae and coral in research fields, where it is usually shipped damp without any heatpacks, in an oxygen rich environment. Identifying the number one killer when shipping is increased respiration, oxygen depletion and excessive bacterial action in shipping water.

We also understand how hectic modern life is and listened to our customers requesting methods of shipping that would allow coral and algae to be delivered to them without having to wait in for parcels whilst also ensuring livestock would be happy enough for a few hours in a letterbox or equivalent. We believed we have achieved this. It is extremely rare we have issues with dead livestock from postage.

We do not want to be draconian regarding our dead on arrival policy, unfortunately such is the case nowadays we must lay out the following policy to protect you as a customer from any issues during the delivery phase and us as a business from fraudulent claims.

  • For special delivery items, receipt of the item must be taken on the first delivery attempt. The dead on arrival guarantee will be void if this is not the case.
  • For delivery via tracked 24 we would ask you introduce livestock as soon as possible after arrival (there is discretion here, obviously a few zoas or algae cuttings posted through your letterbox in spring that sit in your house until you come home from work we would expect to be fine. However the same package sat in your 'safe place' in the depths of winter, with a frost for hours is not acceptable)
  • We would ask for cases of damaged packaging you retain a photograph of the package, should you have any issues with livestock. Parcels, take a battering in the post sometimes, They shouldn't, but it is beyond our control however this rarely effects livestock inside the parcels, which are packed with expertese and care. Even at its worst, when mistreatment results in bags or pots being smashed and turning up devoid of water, it is of little concern to algae and most coral, which regularly sit for hours exposed to air in the wild at low tide.
  • If you are at all concerned about livestock, please photograph it in its original packing and then again in your aquarium. We won't go voiding our guaratee the second you pop it into your own aquarium and would sooner you get it out of the shipping water and into your aquarium. (We shouldn't need to say this here but as it has happened before, more than once... Don't go expecting a refund if you dump the coral into a fresh water tropical tank with some neon tetras and photograph it dead 6 hours later.. We are fair regarding issues but have to draw a line somewhere!)
  • In the event of dead livestock or issues, contact us via the contact page on our website, the same day that your livestock arrives, with the above requested photographs and we will sort out a replacement.
  • Once livestock has entered your aquarium (unless you have contacted us to notify us of a potential issue) the dead on arrival guarantee will be voided.
  • We do not require drip acclimating for algaes or corals. We would ask as a minimum you simply float bags to temptature acclimate, remove livestock and add to your aquarium/dip.
  • Algae must not be dipped in coral dip. Unless specified algae must never be attached with superglue, reef putty, epoxy glue etc, this will kill most species.
