Long lash, semi branching Green star polyps, Briareum spp.
Our soft corals will actively be attached onto the frag plug/rock rubble/tile of their own accord, not simply glued onto plugs
Description:
This is a real 'old school' offering. Sold as Green Star Poyps 20 years back it has now been surpassed with Pachyclavularia assuming the GSP name. Unlike Pachyclavularia this is a Briareum species, more closely related to gorgonians. It is not so much of an obnoxious dayglow green as 'green star polyps' seen nowadays but has MUCH longer, flowing polyps, with s slight serrated outer structure to them. The growth pattern, as opposed to the flat, low mats formed by Pachyclavularia is a convoluted layering structure, resulting in a twisted 'gnarled' vertical growth pattern as well as horizontal growth. Providing height and interest, as opposed to a simple mat of smaller green polyps as seen with Pachyclavularia spp.
Size
A large plug, small tile or piece of rock rubble encrusted with growth. Expanded and open the coral will be around 40mm diameter.
Care
Easy once settled
Growth
Moderate, slower than invasive Pachyclavularia spp.
Minimum polyp count per frag
