Oilslick leptoseris (20mm Frag plug)
Our encrusting stony corals will actively be encrusting onto the frag plug of their own accord, not simply glued onto plugs.
Description:
An extremely forgiving, encruting stony coral, often referred to as 'An SPS with LPS' care requirements. Displaying the intricate characteristic 'snake skin' ridges, seen in Leptoseris sp. throughout the 'eye burningly' bright green flesh. Sometimes sold as 'Hulk' leptoseris. Variation in colour occurs due to lighting intensity. Under low light it takes on an 'oilslick' like sheen and under more intense lighting a vivid bight green.
Leotoseris species cope very well with low lighting, one if the few stony encrusting corals that will do well in low light areas.
Size
A 20mm plug, fully encrusted with the coral.
Care
Undemanding for a stony coral, very tolerant of low lighting. Does best under medium to low light and medium to high flow. As with all stony corals it does need stable reef parameters and a more mature aquarium.
Growth
Moderate to fast
Minimum polyp count per frag
