Lobophyton ("Yellow Lobophytum, Devils hand") (20mm Frag plug)
Description:
An unassuming little soft coral, often overlooked as whilst absolutely 'bomb proof' they have a habit of 'sulking' when first introduced to new aquaria and dont appear anything special in this state. Once settled though they show remarkable variation in colour dependant upon lighting. Specimens settled and grown under high light often display light sandy yellow colouration adorned with dainty white polyps and a shimmer of luminescent green.
Their form is nothing to be ignored either, living upto their name of 'Devils hand' leathers, displaying gnarled lobe like protrusions and interest once grown out.
We would have a softy tank without one of these in!
And the best part of it, they are so easy to keep they are largely a case of add and forget about it corals!
Care
Easy care, adaptable to most flow and most lighting, however can take a while to settle and look their best in new aquaria.
Growth
Moderate to fast
Minimum polyp count per frag
