By request, these are vials of the main essential elements for growing marine macro algae. pre mixed, pre measured to suit a 300L aquarium with moderate amounts of macro algae either grown in the sump or display. (Adjust dosing accordingly, dependant upon macro algae stocking and aquarium size)

These are the same compounds and of the same molarity we dose into our algae growout tanks, and have for well over 10 years!

We have simplified dosing. Each vial/tube is designed to last one month in a 300L aquarium with a baseline of an average sized sump growing a caulerpa spp. bed. Each vial would ideally be spread out over the month and dosed weekly.

Used in conjunction with normal water changes these will keep levels of bioavailable Iron, Potassium and Iodine around optimal levels for optimal healthy growth of marine macro algae, either in a macro algae dominant tank or mixed reef.

These are Nitrate and Phosphate free, we would advocate keeping your Nitrate between 5ppm-10ppm and phosphate around 0.1ppm for optimum algae growth.

Be aware using these will keep an elevated level of bioavailable iron (compared to natural sea water) in the aquarium. There is no scientific evidence, elevated iron levels cause any issues for other marine livestock. We run these levels in our own house mixed reef, and frag tanks, containg sps, lps, soft corals, fish and motile inverts.

You will receive :

Dosing instructions are based upon a 300 Litre housing a moderate amount of algae in a sump or display.

5 x Vials of chelated Iron (Dose 1 vial per month, ideally divided into 4 weekly doses of 1/4 of a vial)

5x Vials of Iodine solutions (Dose 1 vial per month, ideally divided into 4 weekly doses of 1/4 of a vial)

5x test tubes of Potassium solution (Dose 1 vial per month ideally divided into 4 weekly doses of 1/4 vial)

1 x 1ml syringe.
