SPECIES INFORMATION:
In these times, when aquaria are now set up using dry reef bones or artificial rock and corals come on frag plugs, rather that attached to reef rock it can take increased periods of time for the lovely hues of coraline algae species to colonise new rockwork.
A solution, of course, is to obtain some rock rubble containing coraline from another aquarium and add to your aquarium. However with people increasingly dipping livestock and being vigilant over pest and disease control, this is not an option many are willing to risk.
We grow out coraline algae from our pest free algae aquariums onto small polished glass plates to provide another avenue for people wishing to seed their aquarium with coraline species, without worrying about the introduction of pests from rock.
All of our plates have spent 2 months seeding and whilst only being small contain enough actively growing coraline algae to kick start growth in a new aquarium.
CUTTING INFORMATION:
You will recieve one glass plate measuring 75mm x 25mm. Simply add to your aquarium, or give a gentle scrub with a clean toothbrush into the aquarium, before adding if you wish (leave mechanical filtration/skimmer off for 24 hours if you do this)
